Brunei

Brunei Listen/bruːˈnaɪ/, officially the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace, is a sovereign state located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea, it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and it is separated into two parts by the Sarawak district of Limbang. The Istana Nurul Iman, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei, stands on its banks. The Brunei River is the shortest major river in Brunei Darussalam. Brunei-Muara District

Brunei-Muara is the northern-most district in Brunei; it is the smallest of Brunei's four districts in term of area but by far the most populous, with over half the country's population. It is the most important and bustling district because the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan which is also the state capital is the seat of the government ministries and departmental headquarters as well as the centre of business activities. Other major town in the Brunei-Muara district include Muara town.

Istana Nurul Iman

The Istana Nurul Iman palace is the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, and the seat of the Brunei government. The palace is located on a leafy, riverside sprawl of hills on the banks of the Brunei River, a few kilometers south of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei's capital.

Kampong Ayer

Kampong Ayer, or the Water Village is an area of Brunei's capital city Bandar Seri Begawan that is situated after the Brunei Bay. 39,000 people live in the Water Village. This represents roughly ten percent of the nation's total population. All of the Water Village buildings are constructed on stilts above the Brunei River.

Lapau

The Lapau is located in Bandar Seri Begawan, across the Royal Regalia Building and the Brunei History Centre. It is the ceremonial hall where the royal ceremonies of Brunei are traditionally held. In this place, beneath the interior's golden-domed ceiling, that the present Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, was crowned on 1 August 1968. Adjoining the Lapau is the old Dewan Majlis or Parliament House. A new and bigger Dewan Majlis has just been built.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium

Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 30,000 and was opened in 1984.
